575 - Internet Law (3 hours)
This course examines the legal issues associated with technology, with a particular focus on the Internet. Among other topics, the course covers the regulation of Internet access and domain names; contract formation, execution and enforceability; personal jurisdiction and choice of law; trademark and copyright infringement; cybersecurity and unauthorized access to computer systems; defamation and speech platforms; and privacy concerns. A primary focus of this course is how to counsel clients and practice law in a dynamic and changing environment, and keep up with changing law and practice. A background in computer science and/or intellectual property law is not required.
